A 4-year-old boy is brought to the pediatrician by his parents for a 3-week history of progressive swelling and protrusion of his left eye (proptosis). There is no history of trauma, fever, or visual changes. On examination, the left eye is proptotic and there is mild periorbital edema. The extraocular movements are slightly restricted in upward gaze. There is no palpable lymphadenopathy in the neck. The remainder of the physical exam is unremarkable.
